A one-year-old child almost died after inhaling teargas fumes during anti-IEBC demonstrations in Nairobi on Monday,October 16.
The minor, from a street family was caught up on the cross-hairs of the showdown between the police and NASA demonstrators.
The child near death experience happened when a teargas canister which had been lobbed by anti-riot police landed and exploded near the minor and her mother.

The toddler was left writhing on the ground and unable to breathe properly.
Her panicky mother could only watch crying hysterically and unable to help.

It took the intervention of journalist from various media houses who rescued the youngster and doused her with water to reduce the stinging effects of the gas during the incident at Uhuru Park.
The government has banned demonstrators from accessing the City's Central Business District(CBD) and their attempt to do so on Monday,October 16 was met with full force by anti-riot police.

The police lobbed teargas on the protesters as they attempted to get into the CBD towards the IEBC headquarters.
NASA has called for daily demonstrations to force the electoral commission to meet 12 demands the Opposition leader Raila Odinga has given ahead of the fresh presidential election.
