Former President Goodluck Jonathan has insisted he will let out of the bag what happened during the 2015 general elections that made him lose.
He suggested he may only do that after President Muhammadu Buhari, who defeated him must have left office.
“After some years, five, six or eight years, when the beneficiaries have left, you can state it (what happened during 2015 elections) in writing and people will not fight with you,” he said.
Jonathan, who contested as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate as incumbent president, lost the 2015 general elections to Buhari, who was the then opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
He however said in Abuja on Thursday when he received members of the Forum of Ex-speakers of State Houses of Assembly, who visited him that at the appropriate time, some of the things that happened during the elections would be properly addressed because of history.
“PDP is still the strongest party. We know the reason we lost elections. People maybe writing left and right, at the appropriate time, some of these things would be properly addressed because of history.
“There are certain things you don’t write now because it would be misunderstood as if you are playing politics. After some years, five, six or eight years, when the beneficiaries have left, you can state it in written and people will not fight with you,” he said.
According to Jonathan, regardless of whatever anyone may say, the PDP recorded several achievements through the number of reforms it introduced and implemented in the 16 years it ruled the country.
The administration of former President of the United States, Barack Obama, was alleged to have played a major part in ensuring that Jonathan was defeated.
A recent revelation of how that administration wiretapped Jonathan’s officials have been hijacked by some analysts to support the argument of the role Obama’s government played to oust the PDP from power.
